Summary
Originally built in 1934 as a half decked auxiliary cutter, she was converted into a fully decked ketch motor sailor in 1976. Snipe underwent a hull and superstructure refit in 2015 and had a new Volvo D1-20 put in in 2018.

Construction
The hull is constructed with pitch-pine planking on an oak framework, sheathed externally with West System glass/epoxy plus copper infused epoxy resin below the boot-top line.
Deck and superstructure are fabricated from marine grade plywood with hardwood beams. teak deck planking is laid over the plywood deck
