Mechanical
Vessel powered by an inboard Perkins 4108 diesel. The engine is housed is Below the cockpit sole in a sound proofed compartment with the forward section incorporating the galley sink.
Single lever engine control mounted in cockpit with engine start panel. Engine has been well maintained and always sits with fresh oil in the engine. Most recent service was 2024.
Reduction gearbox driving a stainless-steel shaft and 2-bladed folding bronze propeller.
Electrical
12V systems onboard with a bank of 2x12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. These are fitted with isolators. Batteries recharged via the engine alternator or onboard battery charger when attached to shore power. Shore power inlet and cable.

Accommodation
Open plan living with berths for 8 persons. In the bow is the sail locker and halyard storage area. This also has a manual pumped sea toilet and a sink. There is a large deck hatch for sail handling as well as light and ventilation. Comfortable saloon with settees port and starboard with pilot berths above. The saloon table is attached to the forward bulkhead and folds down into place. Attractive interior joinery work with varnished teak solid wood and veneers. Teak and holly flooring. Aft on the starboard side is the galley with plentiful storage outboard of the oven and work tops. The oven is a gas fuelled Flavel Vanessa with 2-burner hob and grill. Top loading icebox with fridge plate. Gas hoses replaced 2025.
Opposite the galley is the forward facing navigation station with chart table, chart storage, navigation aids and switch panel.
In the aft section are the remaining 4 berths which are pipe cots. Reading lights above the bunks and red night lights to aid night vision. Interior kept warm and cosy by Eberspacher diesel heating.
Construction
GRP Constructed cruiser racer built by OY Nautor AB of Finland. There were only 12 Swan 39r models built but they have been very successful when campaigned. The hull and cockpit structure are solid GRP whilst the deck is GRP and balsa sandwich. Interior beams and stringers are glassed in place and finished in epoxy resin. Shallow bilge with pump out. Stainless steel keel bolts in visibly good condition. Deep lead fin keel, skeg hung rudder with varnished tiller steering. Perspex windows built into topsides port and starboard. Flush decks allow easy access when racing hard. Deep safe cockpit with liferaft storage in sole. Stainless steel stem head fitting. Stainless steel stanchions with double set guidewires. Hull epoxy primed ready for antifouling.
