Summary
The Sealine C39 is without a doubt one of the best looking sports cruisers ever built. With her generous curves and sporty lines, she has a timeless beauty that will still be desirable thirty years from now. 'Ophelia' is beautifully maintained and presented. Her onboard equipment will please the most demanding of owners whilst her comfort and layout will suit both the cruising couple or family boater alike.
Her present custodian has spared no expense in upgrading her electronic package, her interior fittings and maintaining her KAD300 propulsion systems. Her conscientious owner is a firm believer in preventative maintenance which will provide many years of trouble free boating for her lucky new owner.
You will be hard pushed to find a better equipped or maintained 12M motor yacht available on the market.
Join an orderly queue.
The Sealine C39 is a large beamy boat and to perform she needs powerful engines. 'Ophelia' thankfully has power in abundance thanks to her twin Volvo Penta KAD300 EDC - 285 hp inboard diesels. These well maintained and smooth running work horses will cruise happily between 22 and 26 knots depending on how many people and equipment are on board, how clean the bottom is and direction of waves and tide. She will do 30+ knots if required but this boat is all about the comfortable cruising experience rather than getting to the destination as fast as possible. The engines have completed 920 hours per side with the starboard engine doing marginally less due to picking up a rogue marker buoy line in 2022.
The engines are located at the rear of the vessel below the teak cockpit sole. The illuminated engine bay is immaculate and although cramped in height, allows ample room for servicing and daily checks. Most recent service was in March 2024. Located here are the battery bank, the battery charger and hot water calorifier. Twin Volvo DP-G sterndrives with stainless steel duo props provide thrust and remarkable control at low revs. The aforementioned rogue marker buoy rope resulted in the starboard leg being completely replaced in September 2023. The port leg has been well maintained and has been regularly removed, stripped down and bench tested. The lower gearbox was replaced as a precautionary measure in 2021 and was treated to new stainless steel propellers.
There is a bank of 5x12V batteries providing engine start, generator power and domestic systems. The batteries are all relatively recent having been replaced at various points between 2020 and 2023. The batteries are fitted with isolators and recharged via the engine alternator or the smart battery charger. As there is no gas on board and there is reverse cycle air conditioning installed, the Kohler 6.5Kva generator provides all the power you will need when anchored offshore or berthed on an unserviced berth in a remote marina. The generator is regularly used and serviced and is housed in a sound shielded box with quiet exhaust muffler.

The interior layout and fit out of the C39 will not disappoint. The combination of high gloss cabinet work, teak and holly flooring, neutral carpeting and fabrics offer quality and practical comfort when on board. The whole ethos behind the Sports Coupe is to be able to go boating regardless of how the weather is behaving. Sitting in this hard top boat will be no hardship even when outside is frankly miserable.
The main saloon is entered from the cockpit by a curved and tinted sliding door. The lower saloon, which can become an extension of the cockpit when entertaining large groups, is on the starboard side. This L-shaped seating area has been treated to brand new upholstery and fabrics in 2023. The table is height adjustable and doubles in size to accommodate 6 adults in comfort. The addition of two, director style chairs complete the look.
Opposite the seating area is a linear worktop which incorporates the galley at the forward end and a handy sideboard aft. The surface of this is lacquered and due to its proximity to the side windows has minor UV damage. In the big scheme of things this is minor and certainly doesn't detract from the overall ambience. What is very handy though is the dedicated drinks fridge being within easy reach. Originally this was where the ice maker lived but the additional fridge is certainly more practical.
The galley features a large Corian worktop with built in 2-burner induction hob. In the cupboard below is a Panasonic convector microwave oven. There is no gas onboard, which will please your insurance company no end, but the onboard generator allows the hob and microwave to be used if shore power isn't available. Stainless steel sink with protective resin cover and hot and cold pressurised water. Isotherm 130litre capacity front opening refrigerator for provisions. This also has a small ice compartment.
Opposite the galley is the raised helm position. There is an upholstered, double helm seat for helmsman and navigator. Angled dash minimises glare from the curved windscreen. Built into the dash are gauges for each engine as well as the array of navigation equipment. To port of the helm is a chart area with light. Opening side window for ventilation.
Directly above the helm is an electrically operated sliding sun roof. On a beautiful day this can be open letting in lots of natural light and welcome ventilation. There is an internal blind to minimise direct sunlight and keep the flies out.
The vessel offer four comfortable berths over two cabins. The cabins and saloon each have there own dedicated Dometic air conditioning units with standalone controls. These are reverse cycle so will provide heating. However there is also a dedicated Webasto diesel fired heating system onboard which services the sleeping cabins and saloon.
In the bow is the 'Owners' state room. Island berth with ample room both sides. The cabinet work is in great condition and has additional hull mounted storage port and starboard of the berth. The mattrass was replaced in 2020, has an additional made to measure mattrass topper to increase comfort and has made to measure bedding. The air conditioning vents are built into the forward bulkhead providing the inhabitants with a welcome cooling temperature. There are two large opening ports either side of the hull. These let in lots of natural reflected light. An additional ceiling deck hatch lets in more light and ventilation. These are all fitted with blinds. 12V deck head and reading lights fitted with energy saving LED bulbs. The flooring is carpeted for comfort. Hanging wardrobe and drawer storage.
There is an ensuite heads with an electric flush toilet. Moulded sink unit base with storage below and glass wash hand basin. Mirrored vanity/storage units. Pull out shower with pump out and protective shower curtain. Opening port for ventilation.
The guest cabin is situated midships. As guest cabins go this will delight the occupants but be warned, they may stay longer than you wish.
As with the bow cabin, the cabinet work is in great condition and is well appointed with storage options. Again this has its own air conditioning control unit meaning that the occupants have a choice whether to have it on or not. The current set up is two single berths but this can be made into a double by the use of an infill cushion. As with the owners cabin, the mattrasses were replaced and bespoke fitted bedding introduced. 12V deck head and reading lights. Opening port for light and ventilation. 3-pin sockets. Fully carpeted throughout. The mid ships cabin has a jack and jill door into the day heads which gives the impression of ensuite facilities. The day heads is similarly equipped to the owners ensuite and features an electric flush toilet, glass bowl sink with mixer tap, hull mounted mirrored storage units and a separate shower unit. Shower sump pump and shower curtain.

GRP constructed hard top sports cruiser built by Sealine International at their Kidderminster factory in 2003. She is beautifully styled with generous and attractive curves which in my opinion offer a more aesthetically pleasing look compared with today’s harsh straight lines and boxy offerings. There is a lot packed into her 12M hull and Sealines patented extending cockpit system gives her the feel of a 42 footer.
Her planning hull is fitted with moulded spray strakes giving her increased grip at both displacement and planning speeds. Her flared bow minimises deck bourne spray keeping both the sunbathers on the foredeck and the windscreen happy. The interior width of the saloon accommodation means that the side decks could be wider but the outward angle of the stainless-steel side rails, coupled with their height provide ample security when moving forward.
Teak laid cockpit with teak topped steps to side decks. The bathing platform is part of the hull moulding and has an incorporated underwater light system controlled from either the cockpit mounted control box or the Axiom system. The colour of the lighting can be changed depending on your mood and is very effective. Built in stainless steel boarding ladder, Hot and cold pressurised cockpit shower situated next to the boarding point. Good sized lockers built into the cockpit mouldings. One is dedicated to the shore power cable keeping the cockpit uncluttered. The cockpit seating and flip back rest have been recovered in 2021. This doubles as a rear sunbathing area or can make an additional double for additional guests. Another clever system introduced by Sealine on this model was an electrically folding rear Bimini into a dedicated garage. Simply remove the side and rear panels and at a touch of a button it disappears.
Large self-bailing anchor locker in bow with flush mounted hinged lid. Simpson Lawrence horizontal mounted anchor windlass with incorporated stainless steel bow fitting allows the anchor to be always stored ready for deployment. Tinted curved glass windscreen and toughened gall sliding sunroof. There are protective exterior windscreen covers with new press studs. These keep the interior cool and protected. GRP constructed radar arch with stainless steel mounting for navigation lights.
under water areas were antifouled in February 2024. Her hull topsides and super structure have been polished using ceramic wax and are in exceptional condition.
