Summary

There is a timeless elegance about Oyster yachts and most yachts from the 80’s and 90’s that that speaks class and comfort. ‘Song of the Phoenix’ is no exception and is a real head turner. She is a truly capable blue water cruiser and in an earlier live spent many months afloat as a research vessel for the International Fund for Animal Welfare. The Oyster 46 is ketch rigged and is capable of being crewed short-handed. Over the years she has seen many improvements including a brand new Yanmar diesel in 2021, professional respray of the topsides in 2021 and new toilets and hoses including sea cocks in 2023. The vessel is currently ashore with her masts unstepped. Her present owner is mid refit of the forward cabins where he had intended to fit a bow thruster and replace the interior fittings. This work has been halted hence the low asking price. The bowthruster is purchased and is on board. This cost in excess of 8K.

Mechanical

Vessel is powered by a 2021 installed Yanmar 4JH11Xi inboard diesel engine. The engine is hosed mid ships beneath the upper saloon floor. All the boards are removable allowing easy access. Reduction gearbox driving stainless steel shaft and three bladed bronze propeller. The propeller shaft is fully protected by a fiberglass moulding. Engine start panel; mounted in cockpit. Engine serviced in 2023 before coming North
