'Lady Kathryn', is a great example of the most popular model within the Jaguar range. This Frank Butler designed sloop has a reputation for being a safe and sea kindly yacht. Indeed you can still rent one in some of the Greek Islands, where their generous beam, shallow draft and huge companionway make onboard living and exploring very pleasant indeed. She is ideal as a family cruiser being easily handled while still providing respectable cruising performance. Spacious cockpit. Good accommodation with a twin berth forecabin and 2 / 3 berths in the saloon. 'Lady Kathryn' is offered at this very attractive price to compensate for the lack of a galley.
Vessel is powered by a Volvo Penta MD7 inboard diesel. This 2-Cylinder, 10hp workhorse has been regularly serviced and starts and runs easily. Most recent service was June 2024. Reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and 2-bladed bronze propeller. Engine start panel in cockpit.
Bank of 2x12V batteries with selector switch. These provide engine start and domestic power. Recharged via engine alternator. Shore power cable and extension.
Bermudan sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped aluminium spars. Single spreader rig with stainless steel standing rigging. Terylene running rigging with the majority led aft for single handed sailing. Mast supported internally by a substantial king post.

The interior is both spacious and welcoming. This is due to the massive sliding coachroof hatch which acts like a sunroof allowing lots of light and ventilation into the yacht. Cleverly designed with every inch of space used effectively, there is ample sleeping arrangements for 5 adults with double berth in fore peak, double berth at the convertible dinette and a quarter berth aft.
Stowage is plentiful with hull mounted storage units and cavernous storage beneath bunks and dinette seats.
The galley has been removed but anyone with DIY skills can easily fit a sink unit and hob if required.
Between the main cabin bulkhead and the forepeak bulkhead is the heads with sea toilet to port and a hanging locker to starboard.
Built by Russell Marine in 1975, this Frank Butler designed craft was recognised as a cost effective and affordable offshore vessel when compared to other builders of that era. She is generous in the beam and offers well proportioned and usable space both in the cockpit and below decks.
Her 1.32M draft allows her to explore the shallower areas of our beautiful coastline without compromising on speed. She is good fun to sail and in the right hands will perform.
GRP hull with white topsides. Underwater areas anitfouled in May 2024. Counter hung semi balanced rudder with tiller steering. Directional skeg protects the propeller. Hull to deck moulding covered in teak strip. Teak toe rails. Foredeck and side decks finished in painted non slip. Deep self bailing cockpit with simulated ‘teak’ vinyl sections. Added comfort due to the angled coamings that double as back rests. Stowage is excellent with a deep port side locker and rope locker to starboard. Cockpit dodgers.
