Beautifully constructed sailing sloop built by Cheoy Lee of Kowloon to a Laurent Giles design in 1965. Carvel constructed using the finest burmese teak planking with a varnished finish, she is a very pretty boat capable of long range cruising. Her late owner sailed her extensively on the west coast of Scotland and over to Norway where she was admired where ever she went.
Comfortable internal fit out with exquisite detailing throughout. Although an elderly girl, she has been regularly updated without ruining her DNA. Upgrades include the installation of a new Buhk diesel in 2015, upgraded raymarine electronics in 2020 and new Ratsey & Lapthorne mainsail and cruising Jib in 2018.
Vessel is currently ashore under cover.
Owner will listen to sensible offers.
Vessel is powered by a Bukh B25 inboard diesel engine. This 3 cylinder, 25hp model was installed new in 2015. She has been well maintained with an annual service taking place just prior to her winter lift out. Her injectors were replaced in 2020. She will happily cruise under engine at 5.5 knots burning a measly 1 litre per hour.
Reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and bronze 3-bladed propeller. Single lever engine control mounted in cockpit.
Bank of 2X12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. There is a rotary style battery selector switch. 12V panel at chart table. Batteries recharged via engine alternator or onboard battery charger. Shore power cable.
Bermudan sloop sail plan with a keel stepped hollow silver spruce mast and boom. Both the mast and boom have been stored under cover and are in good shape. Stainless steel standing rigging which was last replaced in 1995. Main sail reefing is around the boom. Boom crutch keeps cockpit clear when not sailing.
Braid on braid running rigging. Self tailing genoa sheet winches mounted outboard of cockpit coamings on solid teak base and stainless steel brackets. Mast mounted halyard winches. Solid teak halyard jammers and cleats.
Suit of Ratsey & Lapthorne sails purchased in 2018. There are also a no1 and no2 jibs. Vessel rigged for spinnaker with hollow spruce spinnaker boom and whisker pole.
